Ray Tapajna tells facts about free trade, global economy since 1956

American Taxpayers have paid out billions of dollars to foreign auto makers to build their assembly plants in America. One state even built an airport near  a new assembly plant for the company to fly in parts made in other lands.  Indiana paid Honda 160 million dollars with all things considered to build an assembly plant in their state. Honda employed about 5,000 workers at a fraction of what many more auto workers once made in the state. And while the Honda plant was being built, about 20,000 auto part workers lost their job.  Why did we let this happen?  Following this debacle, President Obama paid billions of dollars to U.S. auto manufacturers to keep afloat as a result of what could have been avoided many years ago when free trade came and betrayed not only the auto workers but everyone in our society.
